What are Day Night honeycomb blinds?

By default, Day Night honeycomb blinds are supplied with the sheer at the top — and that’s also our recommended approach. Even when the blockout fabric is in place, and the sheer is compressed you will see it glow slightly, so if it’s at the bottom it can be more noticeable near the sill. If nothing is specified when you proceed, we will supply the blind with the sheer at the top.

Sheer at the bottom is available by request, but you need to accept:

• At night, when the blockout is lowered, the sheer compresses on the sill
• In the morning, light will transmit through the sheer (not direct sunlight, but it is a lighter strip)

Day Night honeycomb blinds can be supplied as corded, cordless, cordloop, or motorised — the Day Night concept stays the same (two fabrics in one blind), but the way you move the rails differs:

• Corded Day Night: uses two cords so you can control the two moving rails separately — one cord operates the middle rail (the “day”/sheer section) and the other operates the bottom rail (the “night”/privacy section)
  
  
• Cordless Day Night: you move the sections by hand using the handles on the rails — the bottom rail lifts/lowers the full shade, and the middle rail is adjusted by hand to expose more sheer or more room-darkening fabric
  
  
• Cordloop Day Night: the shade typically moves through a cycle as you operate the cordloop — if fully raised, the middle and bottom rails descend together; once the bottom rail reaches its limit, the middle rail can then be positioned. Retracting works in reverse
  
  
• Motorised Day Night: operation is via remote (and optional hub/app control). It’s the cleanest option for larger blinds, hard-to-reach windows, or multi-blind rooms
